New Hotel Colon - Mataro

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating, even providing valuable local recommendations for dining and exploration.

While the air conditioning worked, the lowest setting of 16°C was still too warm for a comfortable night's sleep.

I liked the hotel location. Door-to-edge water 7 minutes walking distance. The beach is clean, spacious. Convenient to get to Barcelona. All trains in this direction are going to Mataro. In the hotel staff is very attentive and quickly responded to all requests, such as provide an opportunity to stroke, add a hanger in the closet, etc. Not all of the staff understand English, but try to summon help others to understand what the problem is. Breakfast costs about EUR 6, it is very satisfying, although a bit monotonous. Especially for us to open the restaurant early, when we needed to leave the hotel early in the morning.

Audibility was increased. The walls are thin. Closet inconvenient, will not open. The light was ignited at the same time on the ceiling and sconces. Unable to read quietly, because the light interferes with others.There was no hair dryer! A three star hotel claims to be called.You need to be alert to the possibility that the choice of dishes in the restaurant is very limited. That is called, no-frills. One should not expect any sauces, delicatessen. But just a hearty meal after a long hard day - the menu is quite acceptable for 10 euros per person including wine. By the way, red wine is served chilled, so we have to take the white wine.

All in all, it was ideal base for traveling to Mataro. Stuff was great all day long. Bus station is 10 minutes' walk: D

Proximity to the beach and friendly staff.

The air conditioning barely cooled my room despite it being set to the lowest temperature. I also experienced a lot of noise from the corridors and adjoining rooms, difficult to relax. The level of soundproofing was disappointing and really detracted from the experience.

The hotel was nice and clean, the staff was also nice and kind. The hotel is near to the beach and to station.

This hotel is very near of the beach, citry town and railway station. Very clean, the staff is very friendly and the rooms are very spacious, quiet and comfortable. Ideal for anyone visiting the city or simply relax on a beach weekend.

We loved the spacious room, and it was great to be so close to the beach. The breakfast spread was delicious, especially the fresh orange juice.

Poor breakfast, 3/4 beds were broken, dirty rooms.

The staff were super helpful and made check-in a breeze! 🙌 The room was comfy, and the location rocks—just a 5 min walk to the beach! Just wished the internet speed was better in the evenings.
